THE TOOLS WE USE

webKazoo uses a number of different programs to develop web sites. These include:

  • Adobe/Macromedia Dreamweaver — probably the most popular program among professionals for visual design of HTML. We appreciate the ease of including JavaScript functions and Cascading Style Sheets.

  • Adobe Photoshop — the best-known and most powerful program for editing still images.

  • Adobe/Macromedia Flash — the most popular web animation software. Closely integrated with Dreamweaver.

  • Adobe ImageReady — great for preparing rollovers and optimizing images for the web. Seamless integration with Photoshop.

  • BBEdit — our favorite text and code editor, by Bare Bones Software. Fantastic search and replace features, and very scriptable. We've converted thousands and thousands of documents for web site use with BBEdit. Mac-only. (We like TextPad by Helios for the Windows platform.)

  • Adobe/Macromedia Freehand — we've been using this illustration program for years, and have never felt any reason to switch. Tight integration with Dreamweaver and Flash.

  • FileMaker Pro — a great combination of database power and ease of use.
